Installation

Requirements

  • Windows 10 or 11 (x86-64)
  • macOS and Linux builds are planned

Installing the app

Download the latest installer from the Open Choice releases page. Run the installer and follow the prompts.

On first launch, Open Choice creates its data directory at:

  • Windows: %APPDATA%\open-choice\

This is where installed plugins, the database, and settings are stored.

First launch

When you open Open Choice for the first time you will see an empty workspace. No plugins are installed yet.

The next step is to install a plugin. Continue to Your First Plugin.

Updating

Open Choice does not yet auto-update. Check the releases page periodically and install the new version over the existing one. Your installed plugins and settings are preserved.
